What is your favorite credit card and why?

The Question:

I’ll start. I like my GAP card. I buy whatever I want. I shop at the store 2 to 3 times a year when things are on sale, and most of my order ends up being free. I find their stuff fits well, is comfy and durable.

What did people say?

⇒ Jessica: "Earn 1 Point for Every $1 Spent" spent outside of their stores doesn't seem too great to me unless I'm missing something? I get more with all my other cards, and I don't have to spend it at the gap.

⇒ Riley: Prime Visa for 5% back on Amazon purchases and 2% back at restaurants/gas stations, Amex Blue Cash for 3% back on groceries, Apple Card for 2% back on anything I can use Apple Pay for, Capital One Quicksilver for 1.5% back on everything that doesn’t fall into any of the other categories. Helps me always maximize my earnings and then I cash out all the points when I go on vacation so I don’t usually haha to pay while on vacation.

⇒ Jessica: I like my visa signature (pncbank) because it has 4% gas, 3%resturaunts, 2% grocery. (Also have discover 5% rotating quarters so I adjust accordingly to the better %).

⇒ Laura: I have 1 card. It is for emergency use only. I occasionally put a purchase on it so it shows activity but using credit cards is a dangerous game. BTW this post seems really sketchy. They got your name and the name of your credit card. Would not take much to fish for a few other details

⇒ Jill: Whichever one gives me zero percent interest for the longest amount of time. Right now I’m financing a large project on 0% interest for 21 months, or longer, credit cards so I don’t have to take out a HELOC or personal loan with these high interest rates. They will be paid off before the interest kicks in. If anything isn’t, it will be transferred to another 0% interest card at that time which will cost me a 3% transfer fee but that’s nothing compared to what I would have paid in interest.

⇒ Sarah: Costco citi visa and capital one venture. I also have spark business and a few others depending on my needs at the time, but the 2 first off are the ones I use the most. Interest rates don't matter to me as I never carry a balance. Haven't paid for a hotel room in years with the venture and we are out of town almost every weekend come football season for my son. We go to every game. Costco I average almost 2k back every year in gas and other big ticket items we buy there between the credit card and executive membership.

⇒ Marci: Costco Citi. We use it for everything, pay it off every week. Never use it unless we have the money in our checking account and have paid a dime in interest. We usually get about $1300 in rewards a year.

⇒ Heidi: Discover card for cash back, which is accumulated and applied to balance when spending is higher (i.e. holidays, after travel).
